We got approved by eBay to run our auction on their platform!!!
This is a huge relief and a huge win for us – the auction immediately gets to be legitimate, payment systems are secure and trusted. People are familiar with navigating the site, and we can easily track bids and offers. Plus, we dont have to manage users, logins, passwords, etc. BIG WIN!
Of course, there are some drawbacks – we have to do it the eBay way, and we loose some of our (hell, all of our) ability to make it look like our BBIS/UWS site, and logos, and layouts, and all the rest of it. A compromise is to link from these pages to the eBay auction listing direct. We’re working on that!
